About the Role
Sheil Law Firm, LLC is seeking a dedicated Case Consultant to support youth and families involved in truancy and family law cases in the Metro Denver area. As part of our legal team, you’ll conduct home and school visits, gather and analyze records, build rapport with clients, and prepare concise written summaries that shape case strategy.
This is a flexible, independant contractor role ideal for professionals with backgrounds in social work, education, mental health, youth advocacy, or juvenile justice.
What You’ll Do
Conduct in-person and virtual visits with youth and families
Build strong relationships with school staff, service providers, and caregivers
Review and synthesize education, medical, and behavioral records
Prepare clear, well-written reports and case updates
Identify barriers (trauma, disabilities, system gaps) and support resource coordination
Help youth understand their case in an age-appropriate, trauma-informed way
Attend school staffings, meetings, and team strategy sessions (as needed)
Track time and maintain case logs using firm systems
What We’re Looking For
Empathetic and professional communicator
Organized and accountable with strong writing skills
Experience working with youth, families, or support systems
Able to manage a caseload independently and meet deadlines
Culturally responsive and trauma-informed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field
2+ years of experience with court-involved youth, truancy, education, or social services
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance
Comfortable with Google Workspace, Zoom, and cloud-based tools
Minimum availability: 30 hours/week
Preferred
Fluency in Spanish
Familiarity with Colorado educational system, juvenile court, or family law systems
Compensation
$40–$55/hour (based on experience)
Mileage reimbursement
Independent contractor role (no benefits)
Flexible schedule with steady case assignments
