Position: Chief Counsel of the Prosecution Section
The City of Cincinnati Solicitor’s Office (Law Department) is seeking a strong,
dynamic
, and experienced leader to serve as the Chief Counsel of the Prosecution Section.
The Chief Counsel serves as the head of the Solicitor’s Office’s Prosecution Section, which is the section devoted to prosecuting misdemeanor traffic and criminal offenses in the Hamilton County Municipal Court. In addition, the Prosecution Section provides training to the Cincinnati Police Department and participates in related criminal justice initiatives such as pre-charging mediation and intake review of cases. The Chief Counsel reports directly to the City Solicitor and supervises a division of approximately 20 attorneys and paralegals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background and experience in criminal law, a devotion to seeking justice, and excellent
communication
and organizational
leadership
skills. Familiarity with the operations of the Hamilton County Municipal Court or other Ohio municipal courts is preferred. Candidates should possess a minimum of ten years relevant legal experience and be licensed in Ohio.
