Job Overview
The City of Mendota is seeking a motivated, service-oriented individual to join our team as a full-time Utility Billing Clerk. This position provides vital office support for the Water Department, with responsibilities focused on water and sewer billing, account maintenance, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Processing monthly water and sewer utility bills
Maintaining customer and meter records
Managing and applying customer payments
Conducting detailed account analysis
Handling service start-ups and shut-offs
Providing consistent, professional customer service, including resolving billing inquiries and service issues
Performing other related administrative tasks as assigned
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong computer and accounting skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Effective problem-solving and multitasking abilities
A customer-first attitude with a willingness to learn
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, with additional training in office administration or general business preferred
Demonstrated customer service experience, especially in resolving service-related issues
Bilingual skills are appreciated and considered a plus
Hours:
Hours are 7am-4pm M-F and every other Saturday 8am-Noon.

Starting salary for this position is $50,000-$55,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
