Our client is a leading independent Greek law firm with a highly regarded corporate and finance practice, advising domestic and international clients on sophisticated capital markets, securities, and corporate transactions. The firm is seeking to appoint a Senior Associate to join its growing Capital Markets team in Athens.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to work on market-leading transactions, advising listed companies, financial institutions, investment firms, issuers, and sponsors on complex Greek and cross-border matters.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will advise on a broad range of capital markets and corporate transactions, including:
- Equity and debt capital markets transactions, including IPOs, rights issues, secondary offerings, and bond issuances.
- Public M&A transactions, tender offers, and takeover-related matters.
- Securities law and regulatory advice, including compliance with Greek and EU capital markets regulations.
- Ongoing advisory work for listed companies, including corporate governance, disclosure obligations, market abuse, and shareholder matters.
- Drafting and negotiating transaction documentation, prospectuses, offering memoranda, and related legal documentation.
- Liaising with regulatory authorities, financial advisers, underwriters, and other stakeholders.
- Managing transaction workstreams and mentoring junior team members.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should possess:
- Qualified Greek lawyer status and admission to the Athens Bar.
- Approximately 6–10 years’ post-qualification experience gained at a leading law firm or comparable in-house environment.
- Significant experience in capital markets and securities law, with exposure to ECM and/or DCM transactions.
- Strong knowledge of Greek corporate law, capital markets regulation, and EU financial services legislation.
- Experience advising listed companies and financial institutions would be advantageous.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and project management skills.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Fluent Greek and English language skills, both written and spoken.
