Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 25 international law firm seeking a 3-7 year Capital Markets Associate to join its Los Angeles office.
This opportunity offers sophisticated issuer- and underwriter-side capital markets work for innovative technology, consumer and life sciences businesses. The successful attorney will handle public offerings, SEC and exchange reporting, corporate governance and day-to-day public-company counselling within a nationally recognised capital markets platform.

The Role
The successful attorney will support and lead key components of capital markets and public-company matters, including:
• Represent companies and/or underwriters in public securities offerings, including IPOs.
• Support other equity and equity-linked capital markets transactions.
• Advise public companies on corporate governance matters.
• Counsel clients on SEC and exchange reporting and compliance requirements.
• Manage client relationships and the day-to-day workflow of sophisticated public-company clients.
• Coordinate transaction processes with internal specialists, investment banks and other advisers.
The role offers a balanced mix of transaction execution and ongoing public-company counselling with increasing client responsibility.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The firm is seeking a Capital Markets Associate with:
• Three to seven years of capital markets and public securities experience.
• Experience representing companies and/or underwriters in public securities offerings, including IPOs and other equity or equity-linked transactions.
• Experience advising public companies on corporate governance, SEC reporting and exchange compliance.
• Experience managing sophisticated client relationships and day-to-day workflow.
• High academic achievement from a nationally recognised law school.
• Experience in the capital markets department of a national or international law firm.
• Active California Bar admission.
Experience involving technology, consumer/retail or life sciences issuers is particularly well aligned with the practice.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $260,000-$420,000, depending on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset.
