Attorney Part-time (25 hours) Immigration San Antonio Court Jobs in San Antonio, TX at TKR Law Group

TKR Law Group is seeking a Part-Time Immigration Attorney located in the San Antonio area to join our immigration practice.

This position offers the flexibility to work remotely with a part-time schedule while continuing to handle meaningful, substantive immigration matters. There is no requirement to report to a law office. In-person work is primarily limited to immigration court hearings, detention facility matters, and other appearances in the San Antonio area.

This may be an excellent fit for an experienced immigration attorney who wants to continue practicing law and handling substantive cases without the schedule of a traditional full-time associate position.

What You’ll Do

The attorney will work with our immigration team and take ownership of assigned court matters from preparation through appearance and follow-up.

Responsibilities include:

  • Appear in person for Master Calendar Hearings, Individual Hearings, and other EOIR proceedings as assigned
  • Handle attorney visits, hearings, and other matters at immigration detention facilities in and around the San Antonio area
  • Review case files and prepare for upcoming hearings and appearances
  • Prepare and/or review motions, filings, exhibits, and other court-related documents
  • Communicate with clients as necessary in preparation for hearings
  • Provide timely post-hearing updates, including outcomes, deadlines, and recommended next steps
  • Coordinate with the firm’s attorneys and support staff regarding case strategy and hearing preparation
  • Maintain accurate records of court appearances, deadlines, and case developments
  • Handle other immigration court and removal-defense matters as assigned

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active license in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. state or territory
  • Eligible and authorized to practice before EOIR
  • Ability and confidence to appear in immigration court
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization and deadline-management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Reliable transportation and ability to attend proceedings throughout the San Antonio area

Preferred:

  • Immigration court and removal-defense experience
  • Experience handling Master Calendar and Individual Hearings
  • Experience with SIJ-related removal proceedings
  • Spanish fluency (not required)

We value relevant immigration experience, but we also encourage attorneys with a strong immigration-law background who are interested in expanding their removal-defense and court experience to apply.

Why This Position Is Different

This role is designed for an attorney looking for substantive legal work with greater flexibility.

  • Work remotely when you are not required in court or at a detention facility
  • Part-time schedule with flexibility outside of hearings, meetings, and case deadlines
  • Handle meaningful immigration court and removal-defense matters
  • Work with an established immigration practice and experienced immigration attorneys
  • Receive support from the firm’s attorneys and staff while maintaining ownership of assigned matters
  • Opportunity for a long-term position with a growing immigration practice

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $50,000–$70,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Benefits include:

  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off

The Attorney We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of their work. When assigned a court matter, you will be expected to review the file, identify issues that need attention, prepare thoroughly, confidently handle the appearance, communicate the outcome, and make sure the team knows what needs to happen next.

At the same time, we recognize that talented attorneys may be looking for something different from the traditional full-time law-firm schedule. If you’re an immigration attorney who wants to continue doing meaningful legal work while maintaining greater flexibility in your schedule, we’d like to hear from you.
