Overview
McARDLE & WHITMAN, a personal injury law firm, is currently seeking ASSOCIATE/OF COUNSEL applicants. Candidate must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision on personal injury claims and civil litigation matters. Successful candidate will work with two senior attorneys. References required. License to practice law in the State of Alabama required.
Responsibilities include:
- Client file creation/organization
- Client communication in coordination with senior attorneys
- Calendaring, managing and suspensing tasks, appointments and events
- Managing all aspects of gathering client medical records, medical bills, subrogation information and other documents related to a personal injury claim/case
- Computer litigation support including, all aspects of discovery
- Reviewing, organizing and indexing documents produced/obtained
- Summarizing medical records with experience in identifying important details
- Preparation of correspondence and basic pleadings
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel
- Appearance in court
Candidate should have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and proofreading skills as well as a good understanding of both pre-suit and litigated personal injury legal matters.
