We are a small private firm in Salem that represents cities and counties throughout Oregon in civil litigation. Our team is dedicated to creating an environment with healthy work-life balances for everyone. Our firm culture and compensation model (which gives control to the attorney over their schedule and pay) have been very attractive to attorneys getting burned out elsewhere.
The ideal candidate will possess litigation experience, as well as strong research, writing, and interpersonal skills. Bonus points for experience working in, or adjacent to, law enforcement, local government, or jail environments.
Litigation
Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.
Draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests and motions.
Participate in every aspect of the litigation processes, including appearing in court hearings, depositions and trial as you skills and experience allow.
Provide clients with clear communication regarding their legal matters and updates on case progress.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the Oregon bar (or ability to immediately get reciprocity).
Civil litigation experience.
Excellent research skills with the ability to analyze complex legal issues.
Proficient in legal drafting with attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also managing individual responsibilities.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $65.00 – $95.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
