About the Role

We are seeking an Associate Legal Counsel to join our South Korea legal team. This role will support the company's day-to-day operations by providing legal assistance on contracts, compliance, and general corporate matters under the guidance of senior legal counsel and the headquarters legal team.

■ Key Responsibilities

1. Contract Management

Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to POP MART's retail business operation, including but not limited to leases, construction agreements, promotion agreements. Organize contract approval matrix and manage the contract archive.

2. Corporate Compliance

Handle day-to-day corporate governance matters, including administrative filings, shareholder meetings, board meetings, and preparation of related documentation.

3. Legal Research & Risk Management

Conduct legal research and manage legal risks in relation to POP MART's offline and online business; including but not limited to advanced importation and exportation compliance, labeling and marking, advertising compliance, data protection regulations, industry trends, labor laws and customer protection requirements, etc.

4. Brand Protection

Support the protection of the company's intellectual property rights in South Korea, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents, review and negotiate IP licensing and related contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and in the best of company's interest.

5. Other

5.1 Liaise with external legal counsel and government agencies to ensure smooth operations and compliance with legal obligations.

5.2 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide practical legal solutions.

5.3 Assist headquarters (HQ) legal team with legal affairs in relation with auditor's audition, adjustment of shareholding structure, M&A and other legal matters HQ legal team assigned from time to time.

5.4 Participate in legal training sessions to enhance the legal knowledge and skills of internal teams.

■ Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or above (LLM or JD preferred); Korean bar admission preferred; overseas bar qualification a plus
  • 1–3 years of hands-on legal experience at a law firm or in-house legal team-
  • Sharp research and analytical skills — comfortable working through complex legal provisions independently
  • Solid grounding in contract law, commercial law, and relevant industry regulations
  • Comfortable with legal software tools and the Microsoft Office suite

■ Preferred

  • Experience in a transnational corporation, retail industry or sector would be an advantage.
  • Native speaker of Korean, and advanced English proficiency is a must; Other foreign language skill is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to provide innovative legal solutions to complex problems.
  • Positive attitude and results-oriented approach, with a strong commitment to the company's values and mission.

1. 계약 관리

임대, 프로모션 계약 등 POP MART 매장 관련 계약·협약·법률 문서 초안 작성, 검토, 협상 및 확정. 계약 승인 매트릭스 구성 및 계약 보관 관리.

2. 법인 컴플라이언스

행정제출, 주주총회, 이사회 회의 및 관련 문서 작성 등 일상적인 법인 거버넌스 업무 처리.

3. 법률 리스크 관리

POP MART 오프라인·온라인 비즈니스 관련 법률 리서치 및 리스크 관리. 수출입 준수, 라벨링·마킹, 광고 준수, 데이터 보호, 노동법, 고객 보호 등 포함.

4. 브랜드 보호

상표권·저작권·특허권 등 국내 지식재산권 보호 지원, IP 라이선싱및관련계약검토·협상.

5. 전자상거래 및 플랫폼 컴플라이언스 (E-commerce & Platform Compliance)

POP MART 온라인사업 (자사몰, 마켓플레이스, 소셜커머스및크로스보더이커머스포함) 관련 법률 검토 및 규제 대응

온라인판매약관, 이용약관 및 개인정보처리방침 검토 및 업데이트

전자상거래 관련 소비자 보호 규정 준수 및 클레임 / 환불 정책 법률 검토

플랫폼운영정책 (예. Shoppe, Lazada, Amazon, Tmall) 계약검토및리스크관리

5. 기타

외부 법률 자문 및 부서별 법률 리스크 협업, 본사 법무팀 지원(감사, M&A, 지분구조 조정 등), 내부 법률 교육 세션 참여.

■ 자격 요건 (Qualifications)

  1. 법학 학사 이상 (법학 석사·박사 우대), 한국 변호사 자격증 소지자 또는 해외 변호사 자격증
  2. 로펌 또는 기업 법무팀에서 1~3년 이상의 실무 경험
  3. 법률 리서치 및 분석 역량이 뛰어나며, 복잡한 법률 조항을 스스로 해석·적용할 수 있는 분
  4. 계약법, 상법 및 관련 업종 규정에 대한 탄탄한 이해
  5. 법률 전문 소프트웨어 및 MS Office 활용 능숙

■ 우대 사항 (Preferred)

  1. 다국적 기업 또는 리테일 분야 경험이 있으신 분
  2. 영어 또는 중국어 가능 시 우대
  3. 자율적으로 업무를 주도하고 책임감 있게 마무리하는 분
  4. 복잡한 법적 문제에 창의적인 해결책을 제시할 수 있는 분
  5. 긍정적이고 실행력이 강하며, 회사의 가치와 방향에 공감하는 분
