We are a downtown law firm seeking an associate suited to working in a team environment, and with experience in family law. Our ideal candidate has appeared at different levels of court and in various types of hearings.
Our payment model is commission-based. The posted income is estimated on projected billings for an associate lawyer. The position is posted as full-time and in-person, but a full-time, hybrid work arrangement might be discussed.
Responsibilities:
- Representation of clients at all levels of Court across Alberta. This encompasses:
– Legal research.
– Draft, review and filing of legal documents.
– Maintenance of files.
– Providing legal advice in all matters related to family law.
– Representation of clients in an ethical, professional manner.
- Ongoing professional development.
- Collaboration with the partners and other associates in the carriage of files.
Requirements and Preferences:
- Juris Doctor or equivalent degree from an accredited law school or Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation.
- Must be an active member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
- Experience in family law is strongly preferred, and additional years of experience are a considerable asset.
- At least two independent references must be provided.

Pay: $70,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
