Associate General Counsel
Are you a qualified lawyer with 3 to 6 years of experience and a strong interest in developing your career within an international in-house environment?
Do you enjoy working across jurisdictions, advising the business on a broad range of legal matters, and taking ownership of complex projects?
Our client is looking for an internationally minded Associate General Counsel to join its global legal function within a complex manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who is ready to broaden their commercial exposure, work closely with senior stakeholders, and progressively take on greater responsibility. The role is designed to evolve over time, with the opportunity to grow into a General Counsel position.
Your responsibilities
- Support corporate governance activities, including board and committee matters and entity management across multiple jurisdictions
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of international commercial agreements
- Assist with litigation and dispute resolution matters, including coordination with external counsel
- Support the business in navigating regulatory requirements, including manufacturing, trade, ESG and data privacy
- Manage powers of attorney and related legal administration
- Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders, working closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams
- Work with external counsel across different jurisdictions and develop strong professional relationships
- Take increasing ownership of legal matters and projects as your experience develops, with the opportunity to progressively assume broader responsibilities
Your profile
- Qualified lawyer with 3 to 6 years of relevant legal experience
- Experience gained in-house, ideally within an international commercial, industrial or manufacturing environment
- Exposure to both civil law and common law environments is highly valued
- Comfortable working across different jurisdictions, cultures and time zones
- Strong commercial awareness with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach
- Able to work independently, take initiative and manage matters through to completion
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with stakeholders at different levels
- Ambitious and motivated to develop into a broader legal leadership role over time
