This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated attorney to develop both legal and business skills, providing hands-on involvement in commercial real estate transactions, development, and strategic consulting. You’ll closely collaborate with experienced professionals across legal, operations, and real estate functions while helping clients capitalize on unique opportunities and solve complex challenges within the dynamic real estate sector.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial real estate agreements, including leases, purchase and sale agreements, and service contracts.
- Support real estate transactions through due diligence, title and survey review, and coordination with external counsel and stakeholders.
- Assist in identifying and mitigating legal and business risks associated with real estate decisions.
- Research and analyze regulatory, zoning, and land use matters impacting client projects.
- Draft and negotiate construction, architecture, engineering, and consultant agreements to manage development and construction projects.
- Support project teams throughout construction, assisting with change orders, claims, and project-related risk management.
- Participate in portfolio planning, occupancy strategy, asset optimization, and other strategic initiatives.
- Build trusted client relationships and communicate complex legal and business concepts clearly to cross-functional teams.
Must-Have Skills:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 3–4+ years of experience in commercial real estate law, corporate law, construction law, or a related practice area.
- Proficiency in drafting and negotiating commercial leasing, construction, and development-related agreements.
- Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication abilities for conveying complex legal and business information.
- Demonstrated ability to assess both legal and broader business implications.
- Desire to work collaboratively with significant client exposure and responsibility.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with commercial acquisitions, dispositions, and portfolio strategy projects.
- Exposure to real estate finance or corporate real estate matters.
- Interest or previous experience in consulting and business advisory beyond typical legal practice.
- Background in operational and financial analysis related to real estate decisions.
- Experience supporting senior executives and multidisciplinary project teams.
