Provide expert legal services and counsel on a variety of matters, including the interpretation and application of laws and regulations.

Manage contractual relationships and address liability issues.

Prepare and review complex contracts involving significant financial sums, ensuring they align with our company’s best interests.

Offer opinions on intricate legal matters that have substantial financial impacts on the company.

Be well-versed in our company’s policies and procedures, contributing to their development and continuous improvement.

Advise and counsel company senior management on diverse legal issues arising in the company’s Medicaid business operations; research and prepare legal memoranda and opinions; assist management with risk identification and management.

Prepare highly complex contracts involving substantial sums of money or opinions on complex matters with significant financial impact.

Draft, negotiate, and review legal agreements and significant correspondence on behalf of the company and its subsidiaries.

Assist with business transactions, development of new products, services, and business relationships, and negotiate with attorneys and management of other companies.

Supervise federal or state litigation involving Blue Cross NC, oversee outside counsel, respond to administrative complaints, and negotiate settlements.

Provide legal training to clients on relevant issues.

Represent the company before federal and state regulatory authorities, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and manage regulatory filings.

Research, interpret, and advise on statutes, case law, administrative rules, and regulations; monitor legislative proposals and assist management in formulating responses.

Participate in the development and interpretation of company policies and assist in implementing new programs and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Hiring Requirements

Graduate of an accredited law school.

5+ years of relevant experience.

Licensed to practice law in North Carolina or must obtain license within 1 year of employment.

Background in Medicaid highly preferred.
