Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Associate — Corporate / M&A role based in Athens. The Associate will work closely with partners and counsels on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, private equity deals, corporate restructurings, and general corporate and commercial matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating transactional documentation (such as share purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements, investment agreements, and corporate governance documents), as well as preparing legal memoranda, opinions, and client-facing deliverables. The role also involves managing and coordinating legal due diligence, supporting transaction structuring, liaising with clients and counterparties, and interacting with regulatory authorities where needed. The Associate will contribute to project management on transactions and participate in business development and knowledge-building initiatives within the firm.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Corporate Law and demonstrable experience in M&A and private equity transactions (minimum 3 years post-qualification).
  • Training and experience at a top-tier law firm (Greek or international) or the legal arm of a Big-4.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills and proven ability to handle complex legal and regulatory issues with attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Excellent Communication skills, including clear, concise drafting in English and Greek, and the ability to interact confidently with clients and counterparties.
  • Solid understanding of Finance concepts relevant to corporate and M&A work, including basic transaction structuring and familiarity with financial documentation.
  • Hands-on experience in conducting and coordinating Due Diligence processes for corporate and M&A deals.
  • Qualified lawyer admitted to the Athens Bar Association (or eligible), with a strong academic background; postgraduate studies (LL.M. or equivalent) in corporate, commercial, or financial law are an asset.
  • Ability to work on-site in Athens in a demanding, partner-intensive environment, managing multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
