1. Lead Impartial Hearing Officer (Contractor)
Location: Remote in Virginia (must be based in or willing to operate from Virginia)
Type: 1099 Independent Contractor (Part-Time, As Needed)
Pay: $85–$125/hour or $500–$750 per hearing, depending on experience
About the Role: Samson Global Solutions is seeking a Lead Impartial Hearing Officer to conduct hearings under the Rehabilitation Act and Randolph Sheppard Act. The ideal candidate is an experienced administrative professional with a legal or compliance background and a strong commitment to neutrality and public service.
Responsibilities:
Conduct impartial hearings for VR clients and blind vendors
Prepare detailed written decisions in compliance with federal/state regulations
Coordinate with parties to schedule and manage the hearing process
Maintain confidentiality of personally identifiable information (PII/PHI)
Submit decisions within required timeframes (15–30 calendar days)
Requirements:
Notary Public Commission in Virginia (or willing to obtain)
Experience with administrative hearings, legal writing, or disability services
Ability to interpret and apply state and federal regulations
Exceptional writing and communication skills
Impartial, with no conflicts of interest
Preferred:
JD, paralegal certification, or equivalent legal training
Prior experience with DARS/DBVI or similar agencies
