Overview
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to support the office location in advising and supporting a wide range of legal matters that arise with a U.S.
-based company maintaining global operations. Practice areas include: privacy and Artificial Intelligence (AI) law compliance, corporate governance, legal incident response, legal inquiries, data governance and basic contract negotiations.
Responsibilities
Corporate governance
Legal incident response management
Drafting of privacy and AI policy documents and procedures to comply with relevant laws and regulations
Perform general legal contract needs
Liaise with outside counsel on various legal matters
Assist in the preparation and review of external requests for information
Research and advise on relevant legal issues, when necessary
Ensure that advice provided is consistent with the relevant regulatory requirements and ICE policies
Liaise with ICE business areas and provide advice and assistance as requirements might arise
To be an enthusiastic and professional member of the legal department
Knowledge and Experience
Licensed attorney in any US state. Position is suitable for 0 to 5 years of experience.
Excellent communication skills are key; ability to attentively listen, actively engage, and concisely and effectively communicate in oral and written form.
A strong work ethic and action-oriented interest in taking on increased levels of responsibility.
Ability to work autonomously and to adapt effectively in frequently changing working environments.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and clients simultaneously and effectively and work in a fast-paced environment; and when the situation calls for it, willingness to work off hours.
Desire and ability to learn business requirements quickly, analyze legal and business risks and propose creative, business-oriented solutions.
Schedule
This role offers work from homeflexibility of one day per week.
