Summary of the position
Responsible for the overall warehouse operation and management at Port Klang Branch with the view to ensure that the operation achieves its strategic, business objectives and profitability targets as laid out in the annual business plan and budget.
Responsibilities
1.Business Planning
Develop and implement plans to ensure steady growth in revenue and profit.
2.Warehouse Operations
Oversee receiving, storage, and distribution activities.
Ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Maintain warehouse security and physical condition.
Monitor and manage inventory levels.
Manage warehouse layout, equipment, and repairs.
Prepare budgets, track expenses, and take corrective actions when needed.
Schedule and manage daily warehouse operations.
Recruit, train, and evaluate warehouse staff.
Support team performance through coaching and guidance.
Stay updated with industry knowledge and practices.
Manage trucking operations and resolve any related issues.
Oversee yard/depot activities and coordinate with customers on services.
3.Financial Management & Reporting
Ensure timely collection of payments and meet financial target
Prepare weekly and monthly reports as required by clients.
4.Manpower & Relationships
Ensure staff are skilled and trained; coordinate with HR for development needs.
Foster a positive work environment and maintain employee motivation.
Maximize efficiency in staff and asset usage.
Maintain strong relationships with authorities (e.g., Customs, Municipal Council).
5.ISO Quality Management
Monitor and report any issues with ISO processes.
Address any problems in implementing ISO systems.
6.Risk Assessment
Review and update risk assessments (HIRADC) as necessary.
Qualifications
1.Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
2.Minimum 5 years working experience in a warehouse/ depot base company.
3.Good in Business communication/ leadership/ interpersonal/ market knowledge/ management of resources & well versed with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
