Role Summary:

The Legal Manager will be responsible for providing end-to-end legal support to the business, with a strong focus on drafting and managing domestic and international commercial contracts

Responsibilities:

The role will be responsible for end-to-end contract lifecycle management, implementation, and monitoring of compliance programs, and ensuring alignment of global policies with local laws and business practices. The candidate further should have hands-on experience in using compliance tools, managing legal risks, and driving compliance culture within the organization mitigating legal risk in all aspects of business – with customers, vendor partners, and employees.

  • Drafting, reviewing a wide range of International and domestic commercial contracts including vendor, customer, procurement, and service agreements.
  • Managing end-to-end contract lifecycle using CLM tools.
  • Ensuring contracts are aligned with internal risk management policies and applicable laws.
  • Localizing and implementing global policies such as Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption (ABAC), Competition Law, Data Protection, GDPR, FCRA, DPA, DPDPA and Code of Conduct including advisory to the business teams on policy compliance and conducting training/awareness sessions.
  • Managing compliance obligations nationally & internationally through designated compliance tools/platforms.
  • Identifying potential compliance risks
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams (Finance, HR, Operations) to ensure legal and compliance standards are integrated into business processes.
  • Supporting internal and external audits from a legal and compliance perspective.
  • Will be responsible for internal periodic audits.
  • Manage cross-border contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable international laws, governing law clauses, jurisdictional considerations, and risk allocation.
  • NDAs, amendments, addendums, and termination agreements.
  • Managing severity of adverse findings of BGV (background verification) reports.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • LLB / LLM from a recognized university in India or abroad.
  • Enrolment with a State Bar Council in India (preferred).

Experience

  • 8–10 years of post-qualification experience in:
  • Corporate legal function and/or reputed law firm
  • Strong exposure to international contract drafting
  • Hands-on experience managing contracts involving foreign clients, vendors, or partners.
  • Exposure to multiple jurisdictions (US, UK, EU, APAC, Middle East) is an advantage.
