Deputy Town Clerk / General Assistance Administrator
Town of Holden, Maine
The Town of Holden is seeking a motivated, team-oriented individual to fill the full-time position of Deputy Town Clerk/General Assistance Administrator. Holden operates on a four-day work week, Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
This is a forward-facing position with frequent public interaction. As Deputy Town Clerk, you will be responsible for issuing vital records, business licenses, and permits, registering motor vehicles, assisting with municipal elections, and performing other clerk-related duties. Additionally, you will support residents in need by administering the General Assistance Program in compliance with state and local regulations.
The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, possess strong computer and organizational skills, and be able to multi-task while providing excellent customer service. Prior experience in a municipal setting and familiarity with TRIO software is a plus, but we are willing to train the right individual.
