Position: 2x Investigators (Cartels)
The Cartels Division protects competition by investigating and prosecuting prohibited cartel conduct and other illegal agreements between competitors. The Division manages the Corporate Leniency Policy (CLP) to encourage whistleblowing and strengthen enforcement through rigorous investigations and prosecutions.
We are seeking individuals with an aptitude for investigation, prosecution, research and the analysis of complex legal issues, who thrive in a challenging environment and are committed to advancing fair competition in South Africa’s economy as part of our high-performing team of cartel investigators and prosecutors.
A starting annual total cost to company package of R (negotiable commensurate with experience)
Please note this position is available on a five-year fixed term contract, renewable.
The main responsibilities of the incumbent will, inter alia, include:
- To investigate and prosecute contraventions of section 4(1)(b) of the Competition Act.
- To administer the Commission’s Corporate Leniency Policy.
- To write, review and present investigation reports.
- To write, review and present pleadings.
- To assist with leading and managing of investigations and prosecutions.
- To assist in the effective management and administration of the Division.
