Rissmiller PLLC is seeking an attorney with 1–4 years of employment litigation experience to join our boutique, plaintiff-side firm. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside the firm’s founder on a diverse caseload of employment matters, including sexual harassment, discrimination, and wage-and-hour class actions.
Although this role is primarily remote, occasional in-person court appearances in New York City will be required. Candidates must have experience practicing in New York state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and a demonstrated ability to manage litigation from inception through trial.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management: Manage a diverse caseload of employment litigation matters from initial consultation through trial while maintaining strong client relationships.
Document Preparation: Prepare pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and other case-related documents.
Court Appearances: Represent clients during court hearings, arbitrations, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences.
Collaboration: Work closely with the firm’s founder to develop case strategies and ensure clear communication within a remote environment.
Organization: Maintain organized case files, track case progress with attorneys, and communicate case progress with clients.
Qualifications And Skills
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
1–4 years of employment litigation experience.
Admission to practice in New York state and federal courts.
Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Proven ability to manage complex cases and client relationships.
Ability to thrive in a flexible, remote team environment.
