We are looking for a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney- Junior level to join a well-respected law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to build their experience in workers’ compensation defense while working with an experienced and supportive legal team.
The majority of this position can be performed remotely. The firm partner resides in Arizona and is looking for an Arizona resident.
The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of legal experience, preferably with some exposure to workers’ compensation, employment law, civil litigation, or another related practice area. Attorneys with strong litigation skills who are interested in developing a career in Workers’ Compensation Defense are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with workers’ compensation cases throughout the litigation process, including investigations, depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, judges, medical professionals, and other parties involved in cases.
- Conduct legal research and assist with drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Review and analyze medical records, legal documents, and other case-related information.
- Assist senior attorneys with developing case strategies and providing legal guidance to clients.
- Participate in settlement negotiations and help advocate for clients’ interests.
- Manage assigned cases and maintain organized case files and deadlines.
- Stay current on California workers’ compensation laws, regulations, and legal developments.
- Work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff while continuing to develop your legal skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership and good standing with the State Bar.
- 1–3 years of legal experience preferred, but candidates with strong litigation or related legal experience will be considered.
- Interest in developing expertise in California workers’ compensation law.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent research, analytical, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities.
- Comfortable working independently in a primarily remote environment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced attorneys.
- Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous exposure to workers’ compensation, civil litigation, employment law, insurance defense, or a related practice area.
- Deposition, hearing, or courtroom experience.

Pay: $95,000.00 – $105,000.00 per year
