Job Overview
The Assistant Director plays a pivotal role in supporting the Law Director by handling misdemeanor criminal prosecutions and being a resource to the City of Greenville Police Department. This position requires a strong background in criminal law. The ideal candidate will possess excellent research and writing skills and the ability to represent the City independently in Court while reporting directly to the Law Director.
Duties
Independently handle City of Greenville misdemeanor prosecutions in Darke County Municipal Court.
Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support ongoing cases and projects.
Draft legal documents, including pleadings and briefs.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in laws and regulations affecting the practice of criminal law.
Ability to effectively communicate with law enforcement and crime victims.
Experience
Strong skills in legal drafting and research methodologies.
Familiarity with criminal law.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong analytical capabilities.
