Catania & Catania (Plaintiff’s law firm) seeks an experienced Workers Compensation/ Social Security Disability Paralegal. You will provide overall support to attorneys’ business needs. Successful candidates must have 3+ years of experience in WC/SSD litigation in Florida. Strong computer and case management software skills are essential. We are looking for another energetic, caring person to join the C&C team.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
Job requirements and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Conduct research to support legal proceedings
· Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal pleadings, briefs and letters.
· Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes
· Monitor and ensure compliance with both OJCC regulations and social security regulations
· Communicate well with clients to acquire information necessary for a successful claim and to assist with completion of documents.
· Record and store client information in case management software
· Order medical records and submit in compliance with OJCC and SSA regulations.
· Complete discovery request and responses in compliance with procedural rules.
Qualifications:
· Must have 3+ years of experience in both Florida Workers Compensation and Social Security
· Familiarity with legal research
· Ability to prioritize and multitask
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Deadline and detail oriented
· Familiarity with SSD/SSI rules and regulations
· Familiarity with Florida Workers Compensation governing Code
Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
