I need and will train a paralegal / legal assistant to manage client communications, schedule appointments, calendar court deadlines, file papers with courts, and manage the law firm’s internal digital filing system. The position requires great oral and written communication skills, the ability to learn industry-specific computer programs that draw upon Microsoft 365 products and common office use of Windows, attention to detail, multitasking, time management, use of strict file-naming conventions and methods, and babysitting a lawyer to ensure work gets done on time.
Responsibilities include incoming and outgoing calls management, client-information intake and processing, calendaring, internal digital filing and filing with the Courts, writing of legal correspondence and court filings, gathering data to draft attorney billing entries, document review, and general administrative support.
No experience in the legal field required.

Responsibilities:
Greet prospective clients, clients, and opposing parties.
Use of law practice management software and office technology to answer client questions, manage data, and manage client matters.
Organize and maintain electronic files, which requires saving digital documents according to a strict naming and filing convention, scanning documents, and managing digital workflows.
Data entry, interaction with law-industry vendors, and filing legal documents through online portals.
Schedule meetings and appointments; Calendar court deadlines.
General administrative support.
Lighting a fire under recalcitrant attorney to ensure work gets done on time.
Employer is a liberal Democrat whose office works on matters of import to the state, county, and national Democratic parties. Applicant does not need to be a Democrat, but will be asked to work on matters pertinent to the law firms work in Democratic politics.
