Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of family law and related legal practices, providing essential support to attorneys in managing family law cases. This role is crucial in ensuring that all legal documentation is prepared accurately and that clients receive the highest level of service throughout their legal journey.
Duties
Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of legal documents related to family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and adoption cases.
Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to gather relevant case law and statutes.
Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and accessible.
Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates on case status, and answer basic inquiries.
Coordinate court filings and manage deadlines for various family law proceedings.
Collaborate with attorneys on case strategy and provide insights based on research findings.
Stay informed about changes in family law regulations and procedures.
Skills
Proficiency in legal administrative tasks with a strong focus on family law.
Familiarity with various areas of law including personal injury law, workers compensation law, estate planning, securities law, and tribal law regulations is a plus.
Excellent legal drafting skills with attention to detail in document preparation.
Strong research abilities using platforms like Lexis-Nexis to support case development.
Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining organization and meeting deadlines.
Effective communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with attorneys.
A proactive approach to problem-solving within the context of family law cases.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $87,127.00 – $160,396.00 per year
