Vice President, Legal – Remote
My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Legal to join their executive leadership team and serve as a trusted advisor to the business. This is a unique opportunity to shape the legal strategy of a fast-growing, innovative company and play a critical role in driving success across all areas of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the chief legal officer, providing strategic counsel to the CEO, executive team, and board of directors.
Oversee all legal matters including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, intellectual property, employment law, and risk management.
Lead the negotiation of key commercial agreements, M&A transactions, partnerships, and strategic alliances.
Ensure the company’s policies, procedures, and operations comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing internal legal team and manage outside counsel as needed.
Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice that balances risk with the company’s growth objectives.
Develop and implement legal strategies that support the company’s long-term goals and competitive advantage.
Qualifications:
JD from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing.
10+ years of broad legal experience, including in-house leadership roles (VP, General Counsel, or equivalent) with in the biotech or pharma industry.
Proven success advising executive teams and boards in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Deep knowledge of corporate law, compliance, commercial contracts, employment matters, and intellectual property.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with excellent judgment.
Outstanding communication, leadership, and relationship-building abilities.
