Position Summary
The VP, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance/Privacy Officer (VP-GC/CCPO) serves as the primary legal advisor and strategic leader for the institution. This executive oversees the legal, corporate compliance, privacy, research regulatory affairs, and enterprise risk management functions. The VP-GC/CCPO provides expert legal counsel, ensures regulatory compliance, promotes a culture of ethics, and mitigates risk to support the institution’s mission of excellence in patient care, education, and research.

Duties
Serve as the principal legal advisor and a strategic partner to the executive leadership team, contributing to institutional decision-making and policy development.
Oversee all legal matters, including healthcare law, research compliance, labor and employment, contracts, litigation, intellectual property, governance, and regulatory affairs.
Provide guidance on legal risks and opportunities affecting the institution.
Lead and manage the Office of General Counsel, including outside legal counsel engagement.
Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Build, mentor, lead high-performing teams across the legal, compliance, privacy, and risk management functions.
