Position: Turner Construction Counsel Role
Join Turner’s legal team as a Corporate Counsel specializing in construction law, based in Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta. This strategic position focuses on legal guidance, risk assessment, and support for contracts.
In this role, your responsibilities will include advising business partners on legal issues, reviewing complex contracts, and actively participating in litigation management. You will play a significant role in ensuring compliance while anticipating and resolving potential legal challenges for assigned Business Units. Your proactive approach will enhance operational efficiency and risk avoidance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advise on legal and risk matters impacting Business Units
• Conduct and compile thorough legal research
• Review and negotiate project-related agreements
• Assist in managing contested legal matters
• Conduct training on legal topics and ethical compliance
Requirements:
• JD degree or LLB and good standing with Law Society
• At least 5 years of experience in construction agreements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Willingness to travel as required
