Law Office of Pamela L. Grutman, PLLC is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Paralegal to join our boutique trusts and estates practice. This is a substantive role focused on estate-planning drafting, trust funding, and estate and trust administration, with significant flexibility for the right candidate.
We are open to full-time, reduced full-time, or part-time arrangements (approximately 25–30 hours per week). Much of the work may be performed remotely, but the candidate must be within reasonable commuting distance of New York City and available to work in person as needed. There is no fixed weekly in-office requirement.
Responsibilities
- Prepare first drafts of wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care documents, amendments, assignments, certifications of trust, and related documents using drafting software.
- Review estate-planning questionnaires, asset information, beneficiary designations, and existing documents and identify missing information or issues requiring attorney attention.
- Prepare documents for attorney review, incorporate revisions, and prepare final execution versions.
- Manage trust-funding implementation, including funding schedules, assignments, transfer documents, letters of instruction, certifications of trust, and related materials.
- Work with clients, financial advisors, accountants, financial institutions, and outside real estate counsel to complete trust funding and track transfers through completion.
- Assist with probate, estate administration, and trust administration, including asset collection and transfer, inventories and schedules, fiduciary documentation, distributions, and Surrogate’s Court filings.
- Assist with fiduciary accountings, estate-tax matters, and other substantive projects as appropriate to experience.
- Help develop and improve firm drafting templates, trust-funding procedures, checklists, and workflows.
Qualifications
- At least three years of substantive trusts and estates paralegal experience.
- Strong estate-planning drafting experience.
- Experience with revocable trust funding and post-execution implementation.
- Familiarity with New York estate-planning and estate-administration practice.
- Excellent drafting, proofreading, organizational, and technology skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of assignments, and recognize issues requiring attorney attention.
- Professional and comfortable communicating directly with clients and their advisors.
- Experience with Clio Manage, Lawmatics, New York probate practice, fiduciary accountings, estate-tax filings, high-net-worth planning, closely held businesses, or unusual assets is a plus.
Work Arrangement
We offer substantial flexibility in both schedule and work location. The position may be structured as full-time, reduced full-time, or approximately 25–30 hours per week. This is a hybrid role without a predetermined number of required office days. In-person attendance will be based on actual client and firm needs.
Compensation
$75,000–$90,000 full-time equivalent, based on experience, plus performance bonus. Compensation will be prorated for an agreed reduced or part-time schedule.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
