We are searching a Litigation Legal Assistant who can assist the firm’s litigation attorneys with contested matters, as well as client communication. The position is full-time and in-person at our Plano, Texas office.
The duties of the position include:
Initial file intake and setup; requesting initial fee approval
Preparing motions, responses, notices, and written discovery for litigation attorney review
Filing and serving pleadings and other documents with state and federal courts
Communicating with clients regarding case status, hearing results and ongoing fee requests
Updating case status in CaseAware and client system portals
Assisting litigation attorneys with hearing preparation
Performing other duties as assigned
Desired skills and experience:
Experience with CaseAware
Experience with drafting pleadings and other legal documents
Experience working in client system portals including BKFS/LPS, Tempo and Legal Tracker
Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Willingness to assist other team members
Willingness to ask questions when needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 – $24.00 per hour
