The San Francisco, CA office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is actively seeking an advice & counseling attorney to join its Labor & Employment Practice.

The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice in California and have at least five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in employment law matters.

Lewis Brisbois’ Labor & Employment Practice represents clients from coast to coast in all phases and types of employment law, counseling, and training. Our team of employment professionals is spread throughout our locations across the United States and provides clients with sound counsel in dozens of jurisdictions. Responsibilities
Job Requirements/Specifications:
At least five (5) to ten (10) years of substantive experience advising and counseling clients regarding some or all of the following substantive areas of California law:
California Equal Pay Act
California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA)
California Family Rights Act
California Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act
California Whistleblower Protection Act
California Private Attorney General Act (PAGA)
Independent contractor and white collar exemption classifications
Industrial Welfare Commission wage orders
Local minimum wage, non-discrimination, paid sick leave, and parental leave ordinances
Non-FEHA employment discrimination protections (e.g., California Labor Code)
Prior experience advising and counseling clients regarding the following matters:
Pre-employment screening and hiring (e.g., ban-the-box, FCRA, pre-employment drug testing)
Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation prevention
Performance management and progressive discipline
Reasonable accommodation and leave of absence management
Wage and hour compliance (e.g., overtime, meal and rest breaks, PTO/vacation, final pay)
Furloughs, layoffs, and reductions in force
Workplace policy development and review (e.g., employee handbooks)
Excellent analytical skills, strong oral and written communication skills, including communicating advice to clients in a clear and concise manner
The ability to respond promptly to time-sensitive advice and counseling needs
Must be admitted to practice in the State of California

USD $170,000.00/Yr.
Maximum Salary
USD $215,000.00/Yr.
