Note: An active California Bar license in good standing is required. Community association or HOA matters experience is preferred but is a soft-screen qualification, not a requirement.

Job Description
- Advise homeowner associations, community association boards, and community managers on transactional and general counsel matters.
- Counsel clients regarding Davis-Stirling Act compliance and other laws affecting common interest developments.
- Interpret, revise, and restate governing documents, including CC&Rs, bylaws, rules, and policies.
- Advise on board governance, elections, meetings, and association procedures.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
- Advise clients regarding maintenance, repair, assessment, and community operations matters.
- Assist with fair housing requirements, disability accommodations, and related legal issues.
- Research legal issues and provide clear, practical recommendations to clients.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and serve as a responsive legal resource.
- Manage assigned matters while working collaboratively with attorneys and professional staff.
Qualifications
- Active California Bar license in good standing.
- Attorney experience in transactional, real estate, corporate, community association, or related legal work.
- Community association or HOA matters experience is preferred.
- Strong legal research, writing, drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Excellent judgment and ability to provide practical legal advice.
- Strong client-service mindset and professional communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
