The Role:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Trade Mark Paralegal to join our growing practice. This role will support our trade mark attorneys in managing trade mark portfolios, coordinating filings and renewals, and handling a variety of prosecution and enforcement matters in the UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
The role is varied, but is likely to entail the following tasks:
Prepare, file and manage UK, WIPO, and overseas trade mark applications and renewals.
Draft responses to official letters and coordinate with foreign associates on worldwide filings and oppositions.
Maintain and manage our proprietary database, ensuring deadlines and renewals are tracked accurately. The database is intuitive and straightforward to use, and training will be provided in this regard.
Assist with trade mark availability searches and initial search reports.
Assist with contentious matters such as oppositions, cancellations, and infringement actions.
Monitor third-party trade mark activity and coordinate enforcement actions, including online takedowns.
Communicate with the trade mark registries, and overseas agents.
Maintain clear and up-to-date records of trade mark portfolios and client correspondence.
Assist with due diligence, client onboarding, and brand audits.
Provide general support to fee-earners and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
Requirements:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Being organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Confidence working both independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
Proven computer skills, including Word, Excel and email systems

Experience in a paralegal role, trade mark or IP paralegal role, e.g. in a law firm, in-house or specialist IP practice.
An understanding of UK and EU trade mark systems and familiarity with WIPO/Madrid Protocol processes.
Familiarity with copyright, design rights, and domain name issues.
There are opportunities to grow and develop at the firm. The paralegal role can progress to a trainee trade mark attorney role, should the successful candidate desire this.
Desirable qualifications, but not essential:
CITMA Paralegal Certificate or similar IP/legal training.
Experience supporting brand enforcement or anti-counterfeiting work.
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Benefits: Hybrid/remote options, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, professional development opportunities.
