Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Litigation Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, particularly in personal injury matters. This is a full-time, in-office position offering hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Compensation is determined based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and file pleadings, motions, and discovery documents in state and federal courts
Organize and manage case files and litigation calendars
Assist with discovery responses, including gathering medical records, bills, and other documentation
Conduct background research on facts, defendants, and potential claims
Summarize medical records and deposition transcripts
Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, and court appearances
Communicate with clients, experts, court personnel, and opposing counsel
Prepare trial notebooks and assist with trial preparation and support
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in personal injury
Strong knowledge of Illinois civil procedure and e-filing systems (Cook County, Federal CM/ECF, etc.)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software (Clio or similar)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
Paralegal certificate or relevant Bachelor’s degree required
