The Chief Attorney Recruiting and Professional Development Officer serves as a strategic partner, supporting the Firm’s practice groups by developing and executing strategic lateral hiring and professional development initiatives. Engaging with Partners throughout the Firm, the Chief Attorney Recruiting and Professional Development Officer will harness the unique ambitions of each practice group, and the Firm as a whole, and translate that into actionable solutions for the success of the Firm. This role will lead a

high-performing team to design forward-thinking programs that attract industry-leading talent and develop exceptional attorneys.

Essential Duties

Engage with department heads and their respective practice groups to design strategies that will enhance recruiting efforts and further develop talent acquisition and retention initiatives.
Harness your relationship-building skills to leverage strategic partnerships with premier law schools, influential legal networks, and executive search partners to position the Firm as the destination of choice for top-tier talent.
Collaborate with Management and industry affinity group leaders to assess, forecast, and develop targeted attorney talent strategies that support both current priorities and long-term strategic goals.
Work with summer associate hiring partners to manage the full lifecycle of the summer associate program, from law school outreach and OCI planning to onboarding and integration.
Partner with the Marketing team to create recruiting collateral as well as digital and social media presence, and coordinate placement of ads, sponsorships, and articles.
Champion a culture of inclusion and professional fulfillment by launching initiatives that strengthen attorney morale, promote connection and engagement, and support long-term retention.
Leverage peer networks and industry associations to gain actionable insights into evolving best practices across attorney recruitment and professional development.
Apply financial management expertise to strategically allocate the department’s annual budget, maximizing talent acquisition ROI and advancing professional development initiatives.
Contribute to the Firm’s diversity and inclusion efforts by identifying areas for enhancement and proposing initiatives that enrich the Firm’s culture, boost the Firm’s recruiting efforts, and comply with client requirements.

Recruiting Focused Essential Duties

Employ creativity and originality in developing recruiting campaigns to communicate Firm achievements and other relevant developments to enhance the Firm’s employer brand/image.
Apply your intuition and resourcefulness to find innovative and creative ways to tell the Firm’s story and define its expertise in its practice areas to potential lateral candidates.
Drive proactive talent identification by researching and interpreting trends from legal publications, peer firm movements, and digital platforms.

Professional Development Focused Essential Duties

Partner with local associations and specialists in professional development and continuing education to ensure all avenues of attorney growth are evaluated and presented to attorneys and Firm management.
Cultivate Firm-wide collaboration by creating strategic networking and integration programs that connect attorneys across practice groups, while providing platforms to show their specialized expertise.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required. Juris Doctorate preferred.
Minimum of five years’ experience in attorney recruiting and professional development required.

Position: Exempt

Location: Century City. 5 days onsite for the first 90-days, then 4 days per week onsite, 1

day remote thereafter.

Salary: $215k – $250k base
