Law Offices of Mary Kennedy is a U.S. immigration law firm focused on both employment-based and family-based immigration matters, including H-1B, PERM labor certifications, I-140 petitions, L-1 petitions, family-based petitions, adjustment of status applications, and related filings.
As we establish our in-person office in Chennai, we are looking for experienced team members who are excited to grow with us and help support the next phase of the firm’s development.
About the Role
We are seeking a US Immigration Team Lead to oversee and support a team of immigration caseworkers and paralegals handling family-based and employment-based immigration matters.
This role combines case management responsibilities with team leadership. The Team Lead will coordinate daily workflow, monitor deadlines, ensure quality and consistency across case preparation, and serve as a resource for team members. You will work closely with attorneys and legal staff to ensure matters move efficiently through the case lifecycle while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and client service.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support a team of immigration caseworkers and paralegals.
Assign, prioritize, and monitor daily workloads and case assignments.
Review case files for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal procedures.
Assist with family-based and employment-based immigration matters, including preparation and organization of petitions, applications, and supporting documentation.
Monitor deadlines and case progress to ensure timely completion of work.
Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
Coordinate with attorneys and legal staff regarding case status and workload management.
Maintain accurate case records and reporting within internal systems.
Support ongoing improvements to case management processes and operational workflows.
Required Qualifications /
Skills:
1-3 years of experience in U.S. immigration law, immigration case management, legal operations, or a related field.
Prior experience coordinating, supervising, mentoring, or leading a team.
Strong understanding of family-based and/or employment-based immigration processes.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to take initiative, solve problems independently, and adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Preferred qualifications:
Law degree (LL.B. or equivalent).
Familiarity with legal case management software and document management systems.
