Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented paralegal / legal assistant to join our premises liability defense team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of personal injury law and a great deal of experience with requesting and obtaining medical records.
Responsibilities
Conduct communications with clients, opposing counsel, and judges.
Finalize and e-file court documents.
Draft non-complex notices, motions, and subpoenas.
Draft discovery requests and responses, including compilation of responsive records.
Request, review, and process records / discovery, including medical records
Perform all tasks related to scheduling of CMEs.
Conduct background and online research related to facts of the case, case witnesses, statutory requirements, and procedural rules.
Trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating with witnesses.
Exhibit excellent phone etiquette when interacting with clients and other parties involved in cases.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2-4 years as a litigation paralegal.
Insurance defense litigation (i.e. auto negligence, premise liability, professional liability), in Florida.
Proven experience executing billable tasks and entering time accordingly.
Associate’s degree or paralegal certification.
