We currently have an excellent career opportunity for a Tax Litigation Associate. Your key responsibilities

  • Assist clients in responding to federal and provincial audits and strategically advise clients on the various options and steps in resolving tax disputes
  • Prepare notices of objection and written representations to the federal and provincial tax authorities
  • Assist with the litigation in resolving tax disputes, including court appeals, judicial review applications, and other administrative processes such as voluntary disclosures, taxpayer relief applications, ruling requests, and remission orders
  • Assist with the preparation of legal opinions with respect to the tax consequences of transactions and performing post-transaction audits for tax efficacy and litigation risk.
  • Skills and attributes for success

  • The ideal candidate will have 2+ years’ experience with income tax, sales tax, and other taxes
  • Prior tax litigation experience is an asset
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have strong foundational knowledge of Canada’s income tax, sales tax, or other Canadian tax systems.
  • The candidate should be a member in good standing of the Law Society of their province of residence.
  • Proficiency in English.

Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.

  • Vancouver: $115,000 to $165,000
