A law firm seeks a Tax Associate to join its expanding transactional tax team in San Diego, CA. Duties
Provide strategic tax advice on transactional matters, focusing on M&A, joint ventures, fund formation, and REITs.
Assist in private equity and other M&A-related tax issues.
Draft and review tax documents, including partnership agreements and tax structuring documents.
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to identify tax-efficient solutions.
Stay current with tax law developments and guide their application to client matters.
Requirements
3-5 years of experience in transactional tax law, with exposure to general M&A and partnership issues.
Strong experience in fund formation, REITs, joint ventures, and private equity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage complex tax matters and develop client relationships.
Education
J.D. from an accredited law school.
LL.M. in Taxation is preferred, or significant tax coursework at the J.D. level.
Certifications
Must be licensed to practice law in the state of California or eligible for admission.
Skills
Strong technical understanding of tax laws and regulations, especially as they pertain to M&A and private equity.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Proficient in tax research and legal writing.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Proficiency with legal research tools and software.
