culture. On the firm’s behalf, we seek an experienced Director of
Professional Development
. In this position, you will play an integral role in supporting the core operations of the firm, focused on the coordination of talent services for legal professionals.
You will champion continuing
education
programs,
career development
, capacity and performance management, and talent acquisition and retention strategies. You will spearhead Student and Associate programs, taking responsibility for the full life-cycle, from hiring to training to performance reviews. Additionally, you will have responsibility for
wellness
and DEI initiatives, as well as other special projects as required. Your goal will be to provide proactive support and services to the firm’s various internal teams, ensuring the firm enjoys a continued reputation as a respected employer of choice in Canada’s legal services community.
Requirements:
Law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) from a recognized institution3-5+ years of relevant experience in a law firm Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
Robust interpersonal and
communication skills
Advanced skills in planning, organizing, and managing projects
Tactful and discreet; able to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information
Able to develop strategic initiatives and deliver supporting tactics
Knowledgeable of Human Resources best practices, employment law, and Law Society regulations and guidelines
Knowledgeable of law school recruitment procedures
Proficient in relationship-building and marketing
Exemplary time-management and prioritization skills
Collaborative

The expected base salary for this position is position will be in the range of $175,000 to $205,000, depending on individual skills and experience as well as internal equity and market equity.
