General Overview
The Summit County Prosecutor’s Office is devoted to making our community a better and safer place for families and crime victims. We fairly, ethically, and truthfully seek justice for all. We are currently hiring an administrative secretary to serve as a receptionist. The receptionist is a crucial part of the office as they are the first person visitors interact with. Successful applicants will be detail-oriented, able to multitask, work well in a team environment, and be able to maintain confidentiality throughout employment.

Required Qualifications
Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge, and abilities listed below.
Completion of high school level education supplemented by coursework in general office practices plus three (3) years secretary experience.

Ability to quickly adapt and learn how to use office software and programs.
Time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced legal environment.

The capacity to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of people.
Ability to derive and implement creative solutions.
Works well in a positive work environment that values a team approach.
Discretion handling sensitive and confidential information, including case information.

Job Duties

Answering the phone in a courteous manner, determining the caller’s needs, and forwarding the call to the appropriate office staff.
Greet all internal and external visitors to the office, ascertain their needs, and assist as required.
Be able to learn and effectively use the office case management system (Matrix)
Sort and distribute both internal and external mail. Look up cases as required utilizing Matrix to determine assigned prosecutor and advocate.
Perform various administrative tasks and assist other office staff as needed.
Type legal documents and correspondence.
Communicate well with court personnel, victims, police officers, and prosecutors, both by phone and in person.
Make copies and/or copy electronic media.
Perform other related duties as required.
