As the SVP Legal & Compliance, you’ll be leading a team of VPs and oversee all legal & compliance aspects of the group, provide expert advice, draft and review legal documents, and ensure compliance with the regional laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading a team of VPs, provide legal guidance and support to on a variety of issues including contracts, compliance, labor and employment, and corporate governance
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal obligations
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents
Manage and mitigate legal risks by ensuring the organization adheres to all applicable laws and regulations.
Handle disputes and litigations, working with outside counsel when necessary
Advise on intellectual property, data protection, and privacy laws
Stay updated on changes in legislation that may impact the organization
Key Requirements:
Qualified Legal & Compliance executive (C-suite)
Law qualification from a reputable institution; admitted as a solicitor/lawyer
Combination of mature markets (UK) experience with some exposure to the Middle East culture, ideally some experience in the UAE/GCC
At least 15 years of Legal & Compliance experience in large reputable organisations, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role, managing VPs/Directors
Some experience in a healthcare organisation is highly preferred
Strong understanding of corporate governance, contract law, and regulatory compliance
A strategic thinker and business advisor who demonstrates a practical & solution-oriented ideas and expertise
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and motivate dynamic teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced constantly changing environment
