For our client, an interesting company in the “green energy” sector, we are looking for an Industrial Sustainability Coordinator

Location: Rotterdam (base) and occasional travel to sister locations in Belgium and South

Africa.

The Industrial Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for the monitoring, advising, developing and implementing sustainability strategies, reporting and initiatives within the organization. The Sustainability Coordinator has a good knowledge of sustainability principles and practices and plays a crucial role in promoting sustainability at all levels of the organization. He/she ensures that

the ever-changing European regulations flow into the processes of the factories and also ensures coordination between the factories.

The Sustainability Coordinator works closely with the energy team, management and the “Green team” to save energy, carbon footprint improvement and various support reporting (ISCC-EU, ESG, etc.). Regular consultation with these teams to support them in their tasks and initiatives in the field of sustainability.

Reports to:

• Finance & Sustainability Director (functional)

• Finance & Admin Manager (operational)

• Site Manager (ultimately responsible for location)

Part of:

• The “Green Team”, the group’s sustainability task force

Tasks and responsibilities:

1.Sustainability advice:

Provide advice to management and relevant stakeholders on sustainability issues, trends and best practices.

Integration of best practices and new regulations into our processes.

Ensure uniformity of sustainability processes between factories.

2.Sustainability reporting and certification:

Collecting, analyzing and reporting data related to environmental impact, energy consumption and sustainability performance.

Preparing reports for sustainability reporting and achievement of relevant certifications, such as ISCC-EU (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification), 2BsVs and ESG/CSRD

Preparing reports and presentations to monitor progress communicate sustainability initiatives to management and stakeholders (carbon footprint evolution, audit results, etc.).

3.Controller for the logistics chain in terms of sustainability requirements (traceability throughout the chain):

Fulfilling a controller function for logistics activities in relation to sustainability.

Regularly check the administrative activities related to logistics chain are linked, are carried out correctly.

Managing the logistics team in connection with sustainability requirements and traceability of these logistics flows

Skills and Profile:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration (WO) or comparable completed study.

Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as sustainability studies, environmental science, law, specialization in sustainability or a comparable one discipline.

Demonstrable drive and passion for promoting sustainability and creating positive change.

Good knowledge of sustainability principles, practices and trends. Hands on mentality to link this to the logistics activities of the locations.

The ability to manage subsidies efficiently, to deal with complex legal matters regulations and in that context maintain constructive relationships with various regulatory bodies and authorities. Making the regulations concrete procedures. Legal affinity.

Demonstrated ability to drive sustainability initiatives both internally and externally promote.

Interest in working in a technical environment.

English fluent, Dutch proficiency is preferred (or a candidate with a strong interest in learning the language).

Location in Rotterdam is not reachable with public transport, so candidate needs to have a car.
