Job Description
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our growing litigation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in defending personal injury suits. The position offers hands-on experience in all phases of civil litigation, including direct client interaction, motion practice, discovery, depositions, mediations, and trials.
Responsibilities
Handle all aspects of case management, including written discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
Report to carriers/clients regarding the status of litigation and case developments
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda
Attend hearings, mediations, and court proceedings
Work closely with senior attorneys, clients, and expert witnesses
Evaluate case value and develop litigation strategy
Maintain case files and ensure deadlines are met
Participate in settlement negotiations when appropriate
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
Civil litigation experience preferred but not required (new graduates with relevant internships or clerkships encouraged to apply)
Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
