Senior Legal Accountant
Location: Broadway, NY
Schedule: Full-time

Pay Rate: $115,000 – $125,000 annually
Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Legal Accountant with proven experience in the legal industry or related professional services. This role will lead daily financial operations, including trust accounting, billing, collections, and accounts payable, while ensuring compliance and accuracy across all financial processes.
Responsibilities and Duties
Oversee and manage financial operations across banking, trust accounts, accounts payable, billing, and collections.
Process employee expense reports with accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain and organize electronic filing systems for financial documentation.
Monitor and reconcile key balances such as Unapplied Cash, Trust, and Work In Progress (WIP).
Collaborate with the regional Staff Accountant to ensure efficient billing cycles.
Serve as point of contact for ACH and wire communications with financial institutions.
Prepare and file sales tax reports in compliance with state regulations.
Support the CFO in implementing new technologies and enhancing financial procedures.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Required)
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience (Required)
Proficiency with legal accounting software such as Aderant Expert or Elite (Required)
Experience working in a law firm or related professional services environment (Required)
Strong knowledge of financial statements, journal entries, and budgeting processes
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Word and Outlook
Excellent communication skills and high level of discretion in handling sensitive financial data
