This highly visible position acts as primary testifier and custodian of records for T-Mobile US, Inc., providing foundational and expert witness testimony concerning customer records, company policy, Law Enforcement Relations (LER) operations and network capabilities and telecommunications technology. S/he is expected to be a subject matter expert (SME) in all of those areas. As a result, the incumbent travels alone extensively throughout the United States and its territories, frequently with little notice and overnight or on weekends.
What you’ll do in your role.
Act as a primary representative of T-Mobile in dealings with the legal community and general public as a Custodian of Records or Expert Witness as necessary in courts throughout the U.S., its territories and other areas where company services are utilized. Testimony includes mobile device capabilities (in general and specific to brands and models); network operation and capabilities; lawful interception of network traffic; LER operations and; collection and maintenance of customer information including subscriber information, call detail, historic and prospective location information and content.
With little or no direct supervision, liaise extensively with law enforcement and other emergency management agencies at all levels providing training and presentations concerning T-Mobile US, Inc.
Collect reimbursement from external law enforcement and court agencies for testimony related expenses.
Provide Tier II and subject matter expert escalated support to external and internal parties for issues involving the interpretation of customer records including advanced call detail reports and scenarios.
Train internal resources (including LER team members and T-Mobile Engineers) on trial appearance procedures, interpretation of T-Mobile records and trends in law enforcement practices concerning TMobile records.
Compile and certify written responses to highly complex legal demands and explain those responses to lawyers, detectives, other law enforcement officials and the court.
Lead projects related to process improvement within the department and the development of new policies and procedures.
Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.
The experience you’ll bring.
High School Diploma/GED. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
4-7 years of experience with law enforcement, legal or LER-type (subpoena and court order compliance) experience.
2-4 years of experience in giving court testimony, business presentations or in media relations.
2-4 years of experience in the wireless industry.
Microsoft Office
Organization, attention to detail, Confidentiality, Strong Communication.
At least 18 years of age
Legally authorized to work in the United States
T-Mobile requires U.S. citizenship for certain roles within the organization. This role requires U.S. citizenship. Individuals hired into this role will be required to submit documentation proving U.S. citizenship within the first 7 days of hire – failure to do so will result in termination.
Base Pay Range: $28.70 – $51.76
Corporate Bonus Target: 10%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
