Role Description The Special Education Legal Assistant/Paralegal will support attorneys in the firm’s Education Law and Special Education Law practice. This full-time, role is based in Blue Bell, PA, with the opportunity for some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include organizing and maintaining case files, drafting and proofreading correspondence and legal documents, and assisting with preparation for meetings, hearings, and due process proceedings. The role also involves communicating with clients, school officials, and other stakeholders, gathering and summarizing records and educational documents, and tracking case deadlines and schedules. The Legal Assistant/Paralegal will collaborate closely with attorneys to ensure high-quality, responsive service to clients and adherence to procedural and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding of legal terminology
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-past environment
- Experience in document preparation
- Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal communication
- Strong research skills, including case analysis
- Attention to detail and ability to review and analyze documents accurately and efficiently
- Paralegal Certification or equivalent experience
- Experience in an education-related field preferred, but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research databases and document management systems
