Job Summary

The duties for this job include the following:

20% Grant Research and Opportunities Identification: Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding opportunities and align them with the projects and initiatives pursued by our office. This includes analyzing grant requirements and eligibility criteria to ensure alignment with our organizational goals.
20% Proposal Writing and Development: Assist in drafting and assembling grant proposals, including writing policies, objectives, and project descriptions. Collaborate with faculty and staff to create compelling narratives that clearly articulate the significance and impact of projects, ensuring all required components are included for submission.
20% Budget Preparation and Justification: Work with project leads to develop detailed budgets and justifications for funding requests. This involves creating budget templates, ensuring compliance with sponsor guidelines, and providing financial information that clearly supports the proposed project budget.
10% Compliance and Legal Documents: Assist in the preparation and review of necessary compliance and legal documents required for grant submissions, such as institutional compliance forms, letters of commitment, and any additional requested documentation. This ensures that proposals meet all regulatory and sponsor requirements.
10% Project Tracking and Management: Help set up and manage project management systems (such as Smartsheet or Amplifund) to track proposal submissions and funding opportunities. This also involves maintaining organized records of grant applications and related documents for easy access by team members.
10% Support marketing and dissemination efforts by assisting in the development and implementation of marketing strategies, managing website content to promote grant opportunities and project successes, and utilizing social media and other channels to reach target audiences. This will involve creating marketing materials and tracking the effectiveness of campaigns to maximize reach and impact.
10% Professional Development and Networking: As a graduate assistant, engage in professional development opportunities, enhancing your networking skills and understanding of grant processes. Participate in workshops and conferences related to grant writing and funding to elevate your expertise and professional profile.
Required Qualifications

To be eligible for an assistantship, students must meet the following criteria:

Students admitted provisionally to a program are not eligible for an assistantship.
Earned a Bachelor¿s degree.
Have applied for and been accepted to a graduate degree program of study at UWG.
Be enrolled as a full-time student in a graduate program of study.
Have maintained a 3.0 GPA in previous and current graduate course work.
Meet the requirements to be eligible for employment in the US.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong writing and editing skills, strong verbal and interpersonal skills, strong organizational, time-management and analytical skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
