Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general litigation, Article 81 Guardianship, and Estate Planning. This role requires excellent legal research and writing skills, as well as the ability to effectively advocate in court on behalf of clients. The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in court, preparing legal documents, and providing sound legal advice.
Duties
Represent clients in litigation proceedings, including trials and hearings.
Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis.
Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
Maintain case management.
Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients and effectively argue cases in court, to achieve favorable outcomes.
Provide legal advice to clients regarding their rights and obligations.
Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to prepare cases for trial.
Maintain accurate records of case files and client communications.
Stay updated on changes in laws relevant to practice areas.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
Strong knowledge of the CPLR, and motion practice.
Guardianship and Estate Planning.
Proficient in legal research tools such as LexisNexis.
Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear and persuasive legal documents and arguments.
Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving client objectives.
Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Prior experience in litigation or a related field is preferred but not required.

Pay: $90.00 – $125.00 per hour
